Pre-Kindergarten
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Pre-K: 3 & 4 yrs. of age)
This new religious formation program was developed to nurture the child’s relationship with God and is inspired by the Montessori Method. The “atrium” is a beautiful environment especially prepared for children and contains various articles of liturgy (Mass, Baptism, Sacraments, Prayer) and scripture materials (Good Shepherd, True Vine, Moral Parables, Infancy Narratives, Prayer). Children have the opportunity to ponder scripture passages or liturgical prayers while interacting with the materials. All classes will be held in the John and Mary Building classrooms. Classes will generally meet three times a month from September through May with some exceptions. There are four options to choose from.
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedure: Parents with students in Pre K are to bring their children to their classroom and pick them up from the classroom at the end of the day.
Calling in Absences: If your child will be absent from Faith Formation class, the number to call is 651-351-3175. Any one of our staff can take the information from you. If your call is not answered, please leave the information regarding your student on ext. 345 or ext. 249. We request calls be received by 3:30 p.m. the day of class for the Wednesday programs. After 3:30 staff is involved in direct class preparation. This combined with the off-site location of our offices make it difficult to retrieve the later calls and get them to the necessary destination.
